Effective September 10, 2020, the Directorate General of Immigration (DGI) will allow certain foreign nationals to enter Indonesia with a Visit Visa or a Stay Visa.

Under the new regulations, individuals can apply for telex visas in the following business categories:

  • Single Entry Business Visas (SEBV)
  • Work Visa/Limited Stay Visa
  • Dependent Visa (for Family Reunification)
  • Investor Visa
  • Retirement Visa

Applicants can select the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate where they want their visa to be issued. Travelers can pick up their visa at an Indonesian Embassy abroad before traveling to Indonesia.

Health protocols remain in place for inbound passengers. Anyone who uses a Stay Visa or Visit Visa to enter Indonesia must provide a negative PCR COVID-19 certificate upon arrival. Certificates must be issued within seven days of arrival. Passengers who do not arrive with a negative COVID-19 certificate will be transported to a designated hospital or quarantine facility for COVID-19 testing. Travelers must remain in quarantine at a designated hotel while they await their test results. Travelers are financially responsible for their hotel stay. The approximate wait time is 3-5 days. Individuals whose test results are negative can continue to their destination city in Indonesia. Individuals whose test results are positive must remain in quarantine until their test results are negative.
