Overview
The government of Denmark will require certain third-country nationals who are family members of a European Union (EU) citizen to replace residence cards. These measures will apply to the cards issued on the following dates:
- Cards issued before 1998
- Cards issued between 1998 and 2011
- Cards issued from August 3, 2016, to August 3, 2021
These measures will apply even if the current residence card has no expiration date. New residence cards must be acquired by August 3, 2023. For further information on the application and renewal process, check here.
