Overview
The authorities of Taiwan introduced new entry regulations for foreign nationals and Taiwanese residents of Hong Kong and Macau on July 20, 2023. Under these regulations, the following conditions apply:
Nationals from countries and territories other than Hong Kong and Macau:
- Resident Certificate (ARC) Holders are permitted to enter Taiwan for all entry purposes. Foreign national workers must hold proof of a valid re-entry permit
- Non-ARC holders can enter Taiwan if they fall under a visa-exemption entry scheme
Residents of Hong Kong and Macau:
- Resident Certificate (ARC) Holders are permitted to enter Taiwan for all entry purposes
- Non-ARC holders must hold valid entry/exit permits or a temporary entry permit
