Overview

The government of Denmark will introduce changes to its new exemption eligibility requirements for foreign nationals from countries outside the European Union (EU) beginning November 17, 2023. As a result, these individuals will be permitted to work in Denmark without a work permit for two separate 15-day periods within any 180-day period.

Qualified individuals must be employed by an intra-group company located outside of Denmark with an affiliated entity registered in Denmark. In addition, the company must have at least 50 employees. Eligible foreign nationals must leave the country for a period of at least 14 days in between stays. Some limitations will apply to foreign nationals working in the following industries:

  • Construction
  • Agriculture, forestry, and horticulture
  • Cleaning
  • Hotels and restaurants
  • Road freight transport
