Overview

South Korea has introduced the South Korea Expedited Entry Business Travelers, a pilot program offering faster immigration processing for foreign business visitors. Effective August 31, 2025, dedicated immigration counters have opened at Incheon International Airport to reduce wait times and streamline entry procedures.

To qualify, travelers must be recommended by one of six recognized economic organizations: the Federation of Korean Industries, Federation of Middle Market Enterprises of Korea, Korea Enterprises Federation, Korea International Trade Association, American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, or European Chamber of Commerce in Korea.

The expedited entry program is designed to improve the travel experience for executives and professionals conducting business in Korea. By facilitating smoother entry, the government aims to strengthen its role as a regional hub for commerce and investment.

The pilot program will run until December 2025. Authorities have indicated that, depending on its success, the initiative could expand to other major airports, including Gimpo and Gimhae. For more regional immigration updates, see Corporate Immigration Partners’ Asia insights.

Looking Ahead

Employers planning travel to South Korea should consider whether their business travelers may benefit from expedited entry. Companies may also explore securing recommendations from eligible organizations to reduce delays at Incheon Airport. If successful, the program could be extended nationwide, offering broader benefits to international business travelers.
