Overview

Belize has expanded its payment system for Belize Temporary Employment Permit (TEP) payments, introducing the option for applicants to use credit and debit cards online. The update, implemented through the OneLink platform, enhances flexibility and security for both employers and foreign national workers applying for TEP.

Previously, applicants were limited to Treasury Department deposits or e-Kyash transactions. With the new system, users can now make secure card payments from any location and receive instant payment confirmation. This marks an important step in streamlining the TEP application process, reducing administrative hurdles, and aligning with broader digital transformation goals within Belize’s labor and immigration framework.

Employers and workers can now choose from three payment methods—Treasury deposits, e-Kyash, or credit/debit card—depending on their preference and convenience. This diversification of options is expected to improve accessibility, particularly for international employers coordinating applications remotely.

Looking Ahead

The addition of card payments represents Belize’s commitment to modernizing immigration services and improving user experience. Employers should update their internal procedures to take advantage of the more efficient online system. Further enhancements may follow as Belize continues to digitize government services and expand electronic payment infrastructure.
