January 10, 2023, Update: On January 9, 2023, the government of Canada officially opened the International Experience Canada (IEC) program for international youth interested in gaining work and travel experience in Canada.
Eligible applicants selected to apply, who have previously submitted an expression of interest to the IEC pool, will begin to receive invitations to apply for work permits under the IEC pathway. Interested applicants can create an online profile here.
The government of Canada intends to invite up to 90,000 international youth to Canada through the program to fill labor shortages throughout the country.
