Key Points

  • Colombia will no longer require Visitor Visa holders to register with local authorities or apply for a regional identity card

Overview

The government of Colombia announced that certain Visitor Visa holders are no longer required to register with local authorities or apply for a regional identity card. This change applies to those in the tourism, business, crew, events, diplomatic, and international agreement subcategories.

Previously, Visitor Visa holders who stayed longer than three months had to register in person within 15 days of arrival or visa approval. The new rule removes this extra step and simplifies the process for short-term visitors.
