Overview
The government of France will move to an online filing system for individuals submitting extensions to 10-year permits beginning July 1, 2024. After this date, the only applications that can be submitted in person include:
- Salarié (Employee)
- Salarié détaché-ICT (ICT Detachment)
- Entrepreneurs
- Partners PACSed with a French citizen (a PACS is a French formal civil partnership)
Applications that can be submitted online include:
- The ten-year resident card with the words “long-term resident-EU.”
- The ten-year resident card for foreign nationals who meet the conditions for obtaining French nationality
- The ten-year residence permit is for family reasons (family reunification, foreign national married to a French national, etc.)
- The ten-year residence certificate for Algerian nationals
- The ten-year resident card provided with bilateral agreements between France and Morocco, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, and Togo.
