The Home Office will resume on-site audits shortly for prospective and current UK sponsors.
On-site audits were postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Home Office officials will now start conducting audits again in accordance with Public Health England health and safety mandates, which includes social distancing and the use of personal protective equipment onsite. Inspecting officers are also subject to sponsors’ internal health and safety policies to further reduce the risk of disease transmission.
The on-site audits are conducted to ensure UK sponsors meet certain compliance obligations that are required for a sponsor license. The audits are conducted to determine a company’s ability to meet the requisite compliance obligations either during the sponsor license application process or once a sponsorship license has been issued.
In-person visits may be scheduled in advance or be unannounced.
