Key Points

  • Malaysia’s Expatriate Services Division will ease the requirements for Professional Visit Pass applications

Overview

Beginning August 16, 2024, Malaysia’s Expatriate Services Division (ESD) will ease the requirements for Professional Visit Pass applications. Applicants will no longer need to submit a bank guarantee, offer letter, acceptance letter, job description, working schedule, academic certificate, or updated resume.

This change is expected to significantly simplify the application process for professionals seeking to work in Malaysia on a temporary basis. The Expatriate Services Division aims to reduce processing times and administrative burdens for applicants and employers by removing the need for multiple supporting documents. It’s essential for those planning to apply to stay updated on any further guidelines or procedural adjustments that may accompany this new policy.
