Key Points
- The United Kingdom’s Migration Advisory Committee released a recent report on occupation recommendations for the country’s new Immigration Salary List
Overview
The government of the United Kingdom’s (UK) Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) released a recent report on occupation recommendations for the country’s new Immigration Salary List (ISL). MAC recommended adding 21 new occupations to the ISL and that they remain on the list.
The new ISL was announced in October 2023 to better reflect the needs of the country’s immigration system. These changes are expected to go into effect in April 2024. At this time, the government will also abolish the 20% ‘going rate’ discount, previously a benefit of placing an occupation on the SOL.
