July and August 2025 Visa Bulletin Updates
The July and August 2025 Visa Bulletins issued by the United States Department of State (DOS) reflect a gradual advancement in a few family-sponsored and employment-based immigrant visa categories, following months of limited movement. Many categories have remained unchanged.
July 2025 Visa Bulletin Highlights
Family-Based Categories: The F1 category remained unchanged for all chargeability areas, except for Mexico, which advanced approximately two months to June 1, 2006. The F2A category advanced modestly, moving from February 1, 2025, to March 1, 2025, for all areas. Many other categories remained stagnant. However, the F2B category for Mexico saw a considerable jump of a full year from April 1, 2007, to April 1, 2008.
Employment-Based Categories: Many categories remained stagnant in the July update, with only a few experiencing small advancements. For example, EB-3 saw a modest advancement, moving forward by nearly 2 months for the Rest of World and Mexico, but advancing only a few days for China and India. The backlogged EB-1 category for China and India remained entirely unchanged, as did the EB-2 category for all chargeability areas. US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) confirmed that adjustment of status applications for employment-based categories will follow the Final Action Dates chart again this month.
August 2025 Visa Bulletin Highlights
Family-Based Categories: The F2A category continued to advance month by month, reaching April 1, 2025, for all areas. Most other categories remained unchanged from the July bulletin. However, the F4 category advanced approximately three months for China and the rest of the world, with F4 for both areas now listed as September 8, 2008.
Employment-Based Categories: USCIS confirmed that adjustment of status applications for employment-based categories will follow the Final Action Dates chart again in August. The EB-1 dates remained unchanged across all areas. EB-2 Final Action Dates retrogressed by six weeks for all countries except India and China due to high demand. The EB-3 category for India advanced by one month to May 22, 2013, while other EB-3 categories remained unchanged.

In summary, the July and August bulletins reflect only gradual progress in the majority of both family-based and employment-based categories. We are hopeful for potential considerable movement across categories in October 2025, as the start of USCIS’s fiscal year has been accompanied by significant advancement in some past years.
