The government of New Zealand will require that supporting documents for visitor visas be provided with a certified English translation. This will apply to any documents provided in a language outside of English. Some examples of these document types include:
- Proof of funds, such as bank statements and pay records
- Flight itineraries, including return tickets
- Proof of employment in your home country
- Leave of absence documentation
- Identity documents other than passports
Previously, applicants were not required to provide a foreign language translation but faced longer processing timelines. According to the announcement, this will create a more efficient visa review process.
