The government of Canada launched a new pathway for employers to hire skilled refugees and other displaced individuals under the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot (EMPP). The new path is expected to open in the summer of 2023 and will provide employers with more opportunities to fill labor shortages.

What are the Changes?
On March 27, 2023, the government of Canada announced plans to expand the EMPP to accommodate more refugees and displaced persons from across the globe. According to the government, these measures will help employers fill labor shortages throughout the country.
