Overview

The government of Finland has announced that foreign nationals are no longer required to visit a service point to provide proof of identity. Instead, foreign nationals will be able to use the Enter Finland digital service if they have offered online banking credentials or other form of strong identification in Enter Finland when applying for:

  • An extended permit
  • A new residence permit card
  • A new residence card, OR
  • Finnish citizenship
    • If you apply for citizenship for your children as well, you and your children will need to visit a service point to prove your identity (or identities)
