Overview

Effective July 13, 2025, the Government of India extended its e‑Visa program to Kuwaiti citizens under five categories: tourism, business, medical, AYUSH/medical attendant, and conference travel. The streamlined digital process allows applicants to complete their visa request entirely online, eliminating the need for in‑person visits to consular centers. Biometric data is collected upon arrival in India, and most applications are processed within three to four working days.

Fees and validity periods adhere to India’s standard e-Visa structure. Tourist e‑Visas are valid for up to five years with a fee of USD 80, while business e‑Visas are valid for one year and allow multiple entries. Medical, AYUSH, and attendant visas are valid for 60 days, while conference visas are single-entry and valid for 30 days. Applicants must hold passports valid for at least six months with two blank pages. Additional documentation may be required, depending on the visa type, such as invitation letters or hospital confirmations.

Approved e‑Visa holders receive an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) via email, which must be printed and presented on arrival. Entry is permitted through 32 designated airports and five seaports, and exit is permitted through any authorized immigration checkpoint. Traditional paper visas remain available for travelers who prefer the conventional application process.

India’s digital visa expansion aims to streamline entry for Kuwaiti nationals, enhance bilateral business and medical travel, and support tourism. This development reflects India’s commitment to modernizing its visa services and fostering greater connectivity with Kuwait.

Looking Ahead

India’s expanded e‑Visa pathways for Kuwaiti nationals will simplify travel for short‑term assignments, business visits, medical trips, and conferences. The digital system enables faster planning and streamlined cross‑border movement, supporting sectors such as healthcare, wellness, and trade.

Monitoring ongoing updates to e‑Visa procedures, including documentation requirements and port‑of‑entry rules, will help ensure smooth travel experiences. Staying informed allows organizations to take full advantage of these enhanced travel options, supporting operational efficiency and cross‑border collaboration.
