Overview

The government of Malaysia will re-introduce iKad identification cards for Employment Passes (EP) on October 24, 2023. IKad approval is issued during that initial application process by Malaysia’s Xpat Center. Currently, the card will be issued to the following groups:

  • Employment Pass (EP) Category I, II, and III
  • Residence Pass-Talent (RP-T)
  • Dependents of the RP-T

What are the Changes?

The government of Malaysia re-introduced iKad requirements on October 16, 2023. Initially, iKad for EP holders was suspended on July 17, 2023. iKads are biometric ID cards that foreign nationals can use as an alternative ID to a passport.
