The Portuguese government plans to replace the Immigration and Border Service, known as Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF), with a new government agency called the Portuguese Agency for Minorities, Migration, and Asylum (APMMA). The new agency will merge the services of SEF with those of the High Commission for Migration (ACM). The APMMA will handle migrant integration, providing information on documents, job opportunities, language learning, and other public services.
