Overview

US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that it will soon conduct a second round of selections for previously submitted fiscal year (FY) 2024 H-1B cap registrations that were filed properly.

USCIS initially conducted a random H-1B cap registration selection in March 2023. Registrations were selected from a pool of properly submitted electronic FY2024 H-1B cap registrations filed between April 1, 2023, and June 30, 2023.

Following the initial lottery, USCIS has determined that it must conduct a second round of random selections for FY H-1B cap registrations to meet its congressionally mandated numerical allocations.

Looking Ahead

USCIS will begin the second round of random selections soon. Once the selection process is complete, USCIS will notify selected registrants through their myUSCIS account. The announcement will include a selection notice with more information about where and when to file an H-1B cap-subject petition.

Additional updates will be provided as available.
