Key Points
- The United Arab Emirates expanded its visa-on-arrival permissions to nationals of Canada, the UK, and five other countries
Overview
The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) extended the visa-on-arrival stay to 90 days for nationals of Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Japan, Singapore, the UK and the US. Previously, most could stay for 30 days, except Brazilians, who had 90 days within a year. It still needs to be determined if the 90-day stay applies per entry, within 180 days, or annually.
This extension of the visa-on-arrival stay reflects the UAE’s commitment to strengthening ties with key global partners and promoting tourism, business, and cultural exchange. By extending the stay duration to 90 days for nationals of these countries, the UAE offers greater flexibility for short-term visitors and those engaging in longer business or leisure activities. The clarification of whether the 90-day stay applies per entry or within a specific time frame will be crucial for travelers planning extended visits. This move further enhances the UAE’s reputation as a welcoming hub for international visitors and business professionals.
