Key Points

  • Israeli nationals with expired passports will be permitted to travel with a foreign passport document until December 12, 2023, so long as the foreign-issued document remains valid

Overview

On April 24, 2023, the government of Israel issued a statement on the renewal of expired passport cards. As a result, Israeli nationals with expired passports will be permitted to travel with a foreign passport document until December 12, 2023, so long as the foreign-issued document remains valid.

The State of Israel will allow Israeli citizens with expired passports to enter Israel using that passport. This information must be verified with your airline of choice, as airlines may choose not to allow boarding with an expired travel document.

What are the Changes?

The Israeli government will continue to allow Israeli nationals, who hold a valid passport issued in another country, to enter Israel on a temporary basis. These measures are being taken due to delayed passport processing and increased demand for travel.
