Key Points

  • Sweden introduced measures to reduce delays in the examination process of specific work permit applications

Overview

The government of Sweden is making efforts to simplify the examination process for work permit applications. The government will continue to increase the number of staff responsible for reviewing work permit applications and will seek new digitization measures to simplify the application process.

What are the Changes?

The Swedish government introduced new efforts to reduce the examination processing time for specific work permit applications. Through these efforts, the government is working to ensure that the processing of all applications takes no longer than four months. Currently, processing times can take an average of eight to twelve months for applicants seeking a work permit through an employer who is not eligible for fast-track processing.
