Overview

The Department of State (DOS) has released the August 2023 Visa Bulletin (VB). USCIS will use the Final Action Dates chart for employment-based categories. The updates below reflect changes in employment-based categories.

What are the Changes?

There are significant changes to the employment-based categories below from the July 2023 Visa Bulletin in August. India’s EB-1 will see considerable retrogression, and most countries in the EB-3 category will also retrogress. The exception is China, which will see some advancement in EB-3.

EB-1
India will retrogress more than ten years to January 1, 2012. China will remain the same, but all other countries will retrogress to August 1, 2023.

EB-2
China will advance one month to July 8, 2019. India will stay the same, but all other countries will advance by six weeks to April 1, 2022.

EB-3
China will move forward two months to June 1, 2019. India EB-3 will stay the same, and all other countries will retrogress by nearly two years to May 1, 2020.
