Key Point

  • Delays in issuing receipt notices for H-1B petitions at the Vermont Service Center

Overview

The Vermont Service Center (VSC) of the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is experiencing delays issuing receipt notices for H-1B petitions filed onsite.

The delays were announced by the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) in a Practice Alert dated May 24, 2022. The delays in processing H-1B petitions have affected several petitions so far. The petitions were filed in April of 2022, but there has been no receipt notice issued as of yet.

These receipt issuance delays do not impact the H-1B cap filing deadline, which is June 30, 2022.

Looking Ahead

Corporate Immigration Partners will continue to monitor the situation and post updates to this page and its social media platforms. Please continue to check CIP’s website or the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) website for updates and more information.
